| | | The pictures below show larger views of the front and back covers, and two random images from inside this 1920s Cracker Jack Company Angelus Marshmallows Advertising Premium Recipe Booklet. The front has the Angelus girl advertising character with a box of marshmallows as a drum, and the back has (2) opened and unopened boxes of Cracker Jack. The opened box has Cracker Jack spilled out, with an advertising tin toy prize spinning top. It has the Cracker Jack slogan “THE MORE YOU EAT – THE MORE YOU WANT”. It is titled “ANGELUS RECIPES” with the advertising slogan “ONE TASTE INVITES ANOTHER”, the “other” meaning Cracker Jack. On the cover there is a stamping from the store that this premium recipe booklet came from: “CLINT’S STORE – THE BEST OF EVERYTHING – MANILLA, IOWA”. There are (16) pages full of recipes, with (9) dessert illustrations inside, including an Angelus advertising tin container and box. It is printed in blue ink, and was published by The Cracker Jack Company. This booklet was used as a mail away, and an in store advertising premium. The booklet measures about 4-1/16" x 6". It appears to be in near mint to mint condition as pictured. |
