The picture below shows a larger view of all (34) 1940s Betty Baker Theatre Actress Photographs & Ephemera Items in this lot. Included are publicity photographs, smaller photographs, theatre programs, and a variety of newspaper or magazine clippings about the pretty young actress. Many of these items pertain to one of her earliest roles as “Fanny Tolliver” in the 1945 production of “Maid of The Ozarks” at the Belasco Theatre in Hollywood, California. This includes the (2) ©1945 Belasco Theatre advertising souvenir program books with Betty Baker pictured on the cover, and all of the various story, advertising and picture clippings.

In the two identical “Maid of The Ozarks” Belasco Theatre programs, the following is written about Betty Baker:

“BETTY BAKER (Fanny Tolliver) is a product of Los Angeles where she studied Drama at UCLA, plus three years in The Little Theater. She Has recently covered herself with glory by appearing in USO Camp Show touring North Africa, Italy, Mediterranean Islands, Southern France, and The Azores to entertain the Allied Troops right at the battle lines. She returned only last September from a tour of entertaining the GI’s and their Allies in the Central Pacific Theater of War, Hawaiian Islands, Midway, Guam,, Saipan, and the Mariannas. The beautiful young actress deserves three cheers and a medal for this exacting “trouping” in which she performed before some 3,000,000 members of the Armed Forces.”

There are (4) large black & white Betty Baker publicity photographs. Three are the same and one is different. These are blank on the back and there is no autograph or signature.

There are (12) smaller black & white photographs. Of these (5) appear to have Betty Baker acting or in a theatre. (4) are of her performing for American and Allied Troops during World War II. The final (3) photos are of Betty Baker posing with American Soldiers during the U.S.O. Tours. Some of these photographs have dates and writing on the backs naming her and others in them.

All of these World War II Betty Baker items for one price! To judge the sizes the larger publicity photos each measure about 8'' x 10-1/8''. These items appear to vary from very good to mint condition as pictured. One program has some paper loss on the cover, and one has a spot on the cover. Some of the clippings have a paper clip on them, and others have a pin holding them together.
