The pictures show and outside and inside view of this Old Unused Las Vegas Nevada Advertising Souvenir Dial Telephone Address Book. This mechanical address and phone number book is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1960s or 1970s. It was purchased as a souvenir on someone's trip to Las Vegas but it was never used. The way that it works is that you would spin the dial to the first letter of someone's name and the spring loaded cover will pop up automatically at that place in the address book. When you push the cover back down it resets the dial. Inside are instruction cards, but unfortunately not all of the lettered cards are inside. They must have fallen out at some point. It has a top card or page, D, E, F, G, X, Y, Z, and an instruction card or page. We do not know where they could be found, but they are simple and could be remade by someone. The top section looks like it is made of metal, but it is gold colored plastic. The bottom is black plastic. The center of the dial reads ''FABULOUS LAS VEGAS'' and pictures a slot machine, a roulette wheel, playing cards, dice and poker chips. It is marked on the bottom as follows: EAGLE UK DESIGN APPLN NO. 957183 This mechanical address book measures about 4-1/8'' x 6-1/2'' x 1''. It appears to be in mint condition as pictured, but as mentioned above it does not have all of the lettered card pages inside. |
