| | | The picture below shows a larger front and back views of this 1930s Cracker Jack Pop Corn Confection Advertising Fortune Telling Dial Paper Toy Prize. It is spinning dial prize that is made of imprinted card stock paper. There is a lithographed tin version that was made of this prize as well but fewer of the paper ones survived over the years. These were made in 1939 and were ordered again in 1941. They have a Cracker Jack ID number: Z-0912. They were made by the Cosmo Manufacturing Company of Chicago, Illinois. The prize pictures Sailor Jack in uniform, and his dog Bingo, with a crystal ball on a Cracker Jack Mystery Club box. What you would do is spell out your name with the alphabet around the edge and read your fortune in the die cut area. The back is blank. It is marked on the front as follows: JACK THE SAILOR BOY SAYS TO SPELL YOUR NAME AND READ YOUR FORTUNE The prize measures 1-3/4'' wide. It appears to be in good condition with some wear from use and some caramel or molasses discoloring as pictured. |
