The picture shows a front and back view of this Old $11,000,000 or Bust in January Advertising Pin Back Button in this lot. This pinback button is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1940s. It was acquired with other World War II Homefront or war effort related items. It may have been related to the sale of war bonds or stamps to fund the war. During the war when there was rationing and limits on materials used for production, this pin back button was made from the discarded scrap tin center that was punched out of Ball canning jar lid (see back image). It has a celluloid covering printed in black on a red background with a tin metal backing. It is marked on the two sides as follows:

$11,000,000 OR BUST
IN JANUARY!
BALL
VACU - SEAL
DOME LID

The pin back button measures 1-3/4'' wide. It appears to be in mint condition as pictured.
