There are (2) items from Portsmouth, New Hampshire for the U.S.S. Albacore (AGSS-569). One is a two sided information card for a tour of the Albacore submarine. The other is an unused cloth patch. It has the Warner Brothers / Looney Tunes Road Runner character and it is marked: USS ALBACORE AGSS 569 THE FASTEST BEEP BEEP There is an old gold colored metal submarine neck tie bar. It is marked on the back: KINNEY CO. PROV. 3, R.I. There are two old plastic drink stirrer swizzle sticks. Theseare blue plastic with gold print. They both read: OFFICERS' MESS SUBMARINE BASE NEW LONDON (Connecticut) There are (6) Navy Submarine Pins in this lot. These pins are not dated and the maker is unknown. They may have been used as award pins. They had been acquired from a former Portsmouth Naval Shipyard worker in New Hampshire. (2) have a submarine and marked “PK-ASC” on the side. (2) have the atomic or nuclear symbol and are also marked “PKASC”. The other (2) also have a submarine and are marked “ASC”. They are made of a gold color metal. Below here, for reference, is some additional information: The ASC, formerly Australian Submarine Corporation, is a wholly government owned Australian naval defense company headquartered at Osborne in Adelaide, South Australia. Established in 1985 by a consortium of four organizations, ASC was brought under direct Government control in 2000 and the company today has over 1000 employees. As of 2006, Government plans to divest or privatise the company remained deferred. ASC rose to prominence in 1987 when it was contracted by the Australian Government to design and manufacture a fleet of six ''Collins Class'' submarines for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) in what was the largest defence contract ever signed in Australia.
