| | | The picture below shows a larger view of the 1954 Troop #1 Burlington Massachusetts Boy Scout Registration Letter with Envelope in this lot. The letter is on original Boy Scouts of America letterhead or stationery, picturing their insignia “Be Prepared” logo, and a campfire. The letter speaks of an upcoming date of September 22 for re-registering your boy, ans a reminder for him to bring the 50 cents fee. The envelope has a Cambridge Street Burlington, Massachusetts mailing address. It has a 3 cent Thomas Jefferson postage stamp, postmarked 1954, and a postmark reading “BOSTON PUBLIC LIBRARY – A CENTURY OF SERVICE – 1854 – 1954”. To judge the sizes the letter measures about 6-1/4'' x 10''. The letter appears to be in near mint condition with a light crease (upper left) and two folds as made for mailingas pictured. The envelope has a few dark spots and a small tear on the flap on the back. |
