The picture below shows larger views of this ©1937 Amoco Gas Station Advertising Premium American Historical Stamp Album With Stamps. Shown are the front and back covers and a few sample pages from inside. The album was acquired at the gas station and the second page inside explains that four new stamps were issued each week. The album holds the American Historical stamps from “the founding of St. Augustine, Florida by the Spanish in 1565” to a “U.S. Military Academy” stamp. The first (12) of the (32) stamps are inside the album. The pages hold the colorful stamps and some details about each of them. They also have images with important Historical events. In the back there is a History of the American Oil Company, a story of Pioneering and Achievement, “How American Products Reach The Consumer” and about the world's largest, most modern refining unit. On the inside back cover there is advertising for the AMERICAN OIL COMPANY, AMERICAN AMOCO GAS, AMOCO, AMERICAN GAS, and AMOCO MOTOR OIL. The booklet was printed by Davis, Delaney, & Harrs, Inc. of New York. It measures 7-3/8'' x 4-1/4''. It is in near mint condition as pictured with (12) of the premium stamps installed. The stamps are all bright, clean, and colorful. |
