The first picture shows the entire map and the second picture shows the envelope that it came in. The world map is color coded and it is covered in events and dates. The purpose of the map is to inform people at home (U.S. & Canada) of the events and give them a visual of he war. It is copyright U.S.A. and Canada 1942 by C. C. Petersen of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It has a ''Back the Attack! - Buy War Bonds'' advertisement and an Army - Navy E production award flag. The advertisement section on the map reads as follows: DATED EVENTS WAR MAP C. H. MASLAND & SONS

CARLISLE, PA. - PHILADELPHIA, PA. The map was originally mailed to a Milford, Massachusetts address. The map measures 38-1/2'' x 17-1/8''. It appears to be in near mint condition as pictured. We found this map after it had been in storage for many years. It has a musty old paper smell and should be aired out. The envelope is not torn open. It has what appears to be an address correction written on it as well as some numbers. |
