| The pictures show views of all (7) Different Unused 1930 Ice & Ice Man Advertising Ad Mat Molds in this lot. The ad mats are dated from different months of 1930. Long ago, before electric refrigerators were in today's kitchens, ice was delivered to homes to be used in ice boxes to keep food cold. These admats are from those days in History. These are molds in which lead is poured to create a thin metal negative image that is then mounted on a wooden block for printing. Advertising is no longer being made or printed like this. The ad mats are like a miniature 3-D posters. They could be painted or would look nice framed, or you could still use them to make print blocks from. The print block would have been used to print in newspapers, in magazines, or on other paper forms of advertising. They are made of a thick compressed paper board.
