These cards are from two different sets, three from one and three from another, and there is one duplicate dog card. These cards were found in specially marked boxes of Quaker Wheat and Rice Puffs in 1949. The cards were part of sets. One has scenes and one has different dog breeds. Three cards are not numbered and three are. The fronts of the cards that picture dogs in color with its breed below. The backs have the set name ''CHALLENGE OF THE YUKON'' DOG CARDS at the top, the dog breed, a brief description a ©1949 date at the bottom along with a facsimile signature of Sergeant Preston. The following dog breed cards are included in this lot: Yukon King (Husky) Chow Chow The fronts of the other cards are in color with different scenes. The backs have the set name ''© CHALLENGE OF THE YUKON'' and a title or caption at the top, a brief description, and a facsimile signature of Sergeant Preston. The following are included in this lot: #22 “WOLF PACK ATTACKING CARIBOU” (bottom corners creased) #26 “TRIP TO THE BUTCHER’S” #36 “MAP OF THE YUKON” (light creasing) The cards each measure about3-1/2'' x 2-1/4''. They appear to be in good to mint condition except for a few small creased (see above) and the “Yukon King” dog card has discoloration as pictured. |
