| | | The pictures below show multiple larger views of this Colorful Old Deer Scene Fire Place or Stove Kitchen Tin Wooden Match Holder. This wooden match holder is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1950s or the 1960s. It is simply marked “© JASCO HONG KONG” on the back. It has an imprinted wrap around image (three sides) with a river or lake scene that has water, trees, plants, sky, a drinking fawn, and a Doe deer. At the top there is a hole to hang it on a nail, or hook, on a wall. There is a striped tin flap or door at the top to insert a large box of wooden kitchen matches. There are two openings on the sides to use the match strikers on the box sides. There is another striped tin flap or door at the bottom to retrieve the wooden matches for use. This would look great hanging in any camp or hunting lodge. There are no matches included with this holder, but they can be purchased in most grocery or department stores. The tim match holder measures about 3'' x 6-1/4'' x 3-3/8''. It appears to be in excellent or better condition as pictured. There are a few small scratches on the back (see the last image in the second picture). |
