The picture shows a view of this Unused 1955 Double Feature Revenge of the Creature & Cult of The Cobra Movie Ad Mat Mold. The ad mat is not dated but it is from 1955 when these two movies were made. This is a mold in which lead is poured to create a thin metal negative image that is then mounted on a wooden block for printing. Advertising is no longer being made or printed like this.

The ad mat is like a miniature 3-D poster and would look nice framed, or you could still use it and make print blocks from it. The print block would have been used to print on movie pages in newspapers, in magazines, or in the movie theater programs. It is made of a thick compressed paper board.

Because this was a double feature, this admat has two movie scenes. One image is of the Creature with chains, a pretty lady, and other people in the background and another is of a cobra snake over a pretty lady with background images as well. It is marked as follows:

THEATRE MAT NO.202

The ad mat measures about 4-7/8'' x 7-3/8''. It is in near mint unused condition as pictured. At one time a theatre was going to use the Creatues image alone. It was marked with a pencil but never cut out. The pencil marks could be erased if desired. Below here, for reference, is a cast list from the two 1955 movies:
