| | | The pictures show views of this 1945 United States Naval Repair Base San Diego California Christmas Dinner Menu. The menu is dated December 25, 1945. It is printed in shades of red, pink, and black on white card stock paper. The cover has a graphic of a cartoon character Santa Claus holding a gift. The inside has well wishes from Commodore J. E. Boak, U.S.N. Commander of the U.S. Naval Repair Base in San Diego as well as from the Officers, Chief Petty Officers, and Watch Captains of Commissary Department (names and ranks listed). It has the full menu of that Christmas Day Meal. Note that there are candy and cigarettes mentioned as part of the meal. The closed menu measures 5'' x 7''. It appears to be in good condition with some folds and spotting as pictured. |
