The pictures below show larger front and back views of the (4) 1930s Cracker Jack Pop Corn Confection Pot Metal or Lead Toy Prize Baseball Sports Lapel Stud Buttons in this lot. The Cracker Jack prize ID number for the top button is is: Z-0347 and it was from the 1930s by The Cosmo Manufacturing Company of Chicago, Illinois. The numbers for the others are unknown, but they are believed to be from the same time period. The top one has crossed bats, a hat or cap, and a ball. The handle of one of the bats is missing. The other three are baseball players. Two are Batters and one is a Catcher. The button on one of the batters has come off, but it is included. On the back is a molded lapel stud button. Definitely desirable buttons, for both Cracker Jack, and baseball fans.

Many of the pot metal or lead prizes were manufactured by the Tootsietoy Company of Chicago, Illinois. There were other companies, including from Japan prior to World War II. Some of these type prizes were made specifically for Cracker Jack, while others were made as novelties, bought in volume, and used as prizes by The Cracker Jack Company. Pot metal or lead prizes were some of the earliest prizes that were used in Cracker Jack boxes from the 1910s to the 1940s. Many of these type prizes or novelties were also sold out of old Johnson Smith & Company catalog as well as some other early novelty catalogs, also used in fortune telling sets, and some were also sold and used as board game parts. Many of these can be found factory painted, inked, or with no finish at all.

All four of these for one price! To judge the sizes, the top button measures about 1-5/16'' x 3/4'' x 1/4''. These appear to be in excellent condition as pictured, except as mentioned above, the handle of one of the bats is missing, and the button on one of the batters has come off, but it is included. It can be reattached.
