The picture below shows a larger front and back view of this Colorful Old Ayer's Pills Victorian Advertising Trade Card. The card is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1800s. The front has a brutal image of one man with his sword through the throat of another. They are both on horses and one has an “AYER'S PILLS” flag with streamers. A horse and another man are on the ground. The caption on the front reads “THE FIGHT FOR THE STANDARD.”. The back has a bottle of Ayer's Pills, the same slogan, and advertising text for the pills. The bottom has a blank space that was meant to be stamped by the name and address of a drug store or grocer. The trade card measures about 2-5/8'' x 4-5/8''. It appears to be in excellent condition as pictured. |
