The year that the pin was made is unknown but the actual postage stamp was issued by the United States Postal Service on February 11, 1972. The pin is enameled in red, white, blue, and light blue on brass metal. Like the postage stamp, it has an image of an American flag with doves or birds. It is marked on the two sides as follows: PEACE CORPS
