The picture shows a view of this 1940s New York City Times Square 5th War Loan Giant Cash Register Photograph Negative. This photo negative is not dated but it was found with other New York negatives from 1944 and 1945. There is no copyright on it and the photographer is unknown. This photo image could be dated to the day by the number of war bonds that were sold that is on the world's largest cash register ($4,067,600,000). The cash register drawer was a store to sell war bonds and above it was a stage where many actors, actresses, singers, radio personalities, and more made appearances to help sell the bonds. The movie theatre marquee on the right has the 1944 movie ''Going My Way'' starring Bing Crosby.

This New York street scene has people walking, sidewalks, cars, a city bus, skyscrapers, the Times or Flatiron Building, storefronts, theatres, the 5th War Loan giant cash register, American flags, and much more. There are many advertising signs. A few are hidden or hard to read but the signs that can be read include the following:

TIMES

''V'' for Victory Banner

BUY WAR BONDS

5th WAR LOAN

COCA - COLA

''GOING MY WAY'' BING CROSBY

NEW YORK (theatre)

(tire sign)

(whiskey sign)

LEBLANG GRAYS

FIFTH

W. 44th ST.

The photo negative comes in its original glassine envelope and it measures 2-3/8'' x 3-3/8''. It appears to be in mint condition as pictured.
