The pictures below show larger views of the (2) Different 1933 - 1934 Chicago Century of Progress World’s Fair Paper Itemsin this lot. These two were found together. The postcard had been mailed inside the envelope. The linen type post card does not have the small squares on it as pictured. This was caused by our scanner. Included here is a post card and an envelope. These were both addressed with the same Chicago, Illinois mailing address.

The caption or title on the post card reads as follows:

X-182 NIGHT VIEW GENERAL EXHIBITS GROUP.

There are messages on the postcard pertaining to the Byrd’d Antartic Expedition in 1934, The Elgin Watch display, more in Pavilion 4 of the General Exhibits, and The Hall of Science.

The envelope or cover has a colorful image of the Chicago Skyline on the flap. It has a stamping for the Byrd Antarctic Expedition II, with two penguins, and a three cent Earth globe postage stamp for the same. The envelope is marked as follows:

U.S. MAIL OFFICIAL CACHET
© B.A.E. II
BYRD ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION II
LITTLE AMERICA, ANTARCTICA
SECOND CANCELATION MAIL
LITTLE AMERICA ANTARCTICA
JAN 30 12 – M 1935

CHICAGO WELCOMES YOU 1933
1833 - A CENTURY OF PROGRESS – 1933
JOSEPH P. BIRREN ©1931
PROCESS CORP. CHICAGO

Both of these for one price! To judge the sizes the envelope measures about 7-1/2'' x 3-7/8. The post card appears to be in excellent used (not postmarked) condition, and the envelope looks to be good with over all wear and creasing from handling as pictured. As mentioned above, the linen type post card does not have the small squares on it as pictured. This was caused by our scanner.
