There are three pictures showing a view of all (9) 1940's Rochester, New Hampshire Scenic Theatre Photographs in this lot.

The first one below is a framed 8 x 10 glossy photograph. All of the others are various size snapshot photos. The first one was taken out of its simple frame for scanning. These were all taken in the lobby of the Scenic theatre of Rochester, N.H.. As of a few years ago the theater no longer exists. The first larger photo pictures Jolly Time Popcorn being sold to a woman.

To the left is is a movie poster for the 1940 movie HUDSON'S BAY. That movie was starring Paul Muni as Pierre Esprit Radisson, Gene Tierney as Barbara Hall as well as: Laird Cregar as Gooseberry, John Sutton (I) as Lord Edward Crewe, Virginia Field (I) as Nell Gwyn, Vincent Price as King Charles II, Nigel Bruce as Prince Rupert, Morton Lowry as Gerald Hall, Robert Greig as Sir Robert, Chief Thundercloud as Orimha, Frederick Worlock as English Governor, Florence Bates as Duchess, Montagu Love as Governor D'Argenson, Ian Wolfe as Mayor, and Chief John Big Tree as Chief. Some of the names appear on the poster.

On the right is a real nice old BURCH Popcorn Machine with Jolly Time Pop Corn boxes inside. This same old popcorn machine is in most of the photos in this lot. The man in the photo has a jacket with SCENIC THEATRE embroidered. The cardboard backing of the frame is marked as follows:

The next photo has a man walking past the candy concession counter with the popcorn vendor on the right. The poster in this photo is from the 1949 movie: THE FIGHTING KENTUCKIAN It starred John Wayne as John Breen as well as: Vera Ralston as Fleurette De Marchand, Philip Dorn (I) as Col. George Geraud, Oliver Hardy as Willie Paine, Marie Windsor as Ann Logan, John Howard (I) as Blake Randolph, Hugo Haas as Gen. Paul De Marchand, Grant Withers as George Hayden, Odette Myrtil as Madame De Marchand, Paul Fix as Beau Merritt, Mae Marsh as Sister Hattie, Jack Pennick as Capt. Dan Carroll, Mickey Simpson as Jacques, the wrestler, Fred Graham (I) as Carter Word, and Mabelle Koenig as Marie. Some of the names appear on the poster. The back of this photo is marked as follows:

The fouth and fifth photos are the same image. A partial movie poster can be seen on the left. The fifth one is not marked. The fourth one has a bit of paper missing and it is marked on the back as follows:

The sixth photo pictures the Scenic Theater Doorman in front of a movie poster for the 1949 Alfred Hitchcock movie UNDER CAPRICORN It starred: Ingrid Bergman as Lady Henrietta Flusky, Joseph Cotten as Sam Flusky, Michael Wilding as Hon. Charles Adare, Margaret Leighton as Milly, Cecil Parker (I) as The Governor, Denis O'Dea as Mr. Corrigan, Jack Watling as Winter, Harcourt Williams as The Coachman, John Ruddock as Mr. Potter, Bill Shine as Mr. Banks, Victor Lucas (I) as The Rev. Smiley, Ronald Adam as Mr. Riggs, Francis De Wolff as Major Wilkins, G.H. Mulcaster as Dr. Macallister, and Olive Sloane as Sal. Some of the names appear on the poster. It has a crease. On the back it is marked as follows:

The seventh photo pictures the projectionist with several large movie projectors. It is marked on the back as follows:

The nineth and last photo in this lot pictures a man and a woman in front of a partial movie poster for the 1943 movie YANKS AHOY!. It starred: William Tracy as Sergeant Doubleday, Frank Reicher as German, Joe Sawyer as Sergeant Ames, Marjorie Woodworth as Phyllis, Minor Watson as Captain Scott, Walter Woolf King as Captain Gillis, Robert Kent (I) as Lieutenant Reeves, Romaine Callender as Colonel Elliott, William Bakewell as Ensign Crosby, Frank Faylen as Jenkins, Marga Ann Deighton as Miss Potter, Tom Seidel as Helmsman, John Canady as Lt. Ransome, and Edwin Stanley as Dr. Hadley. Partial names can be seen on the poster. The back of this one is marked as follows:
