| | | The picture shows a view of this Old Clothing, Dry Goods & Furniture Store Exterior Glass Photograph Negative. Also shown are two closer views of areas on the negative. The location and year this was made are unknown, however, it is believed to be from New Hampshire or Massachusetts in the 1800s. The building appears to have two different stores within. The image has (2) men by the left store and a man & woman by the other. They are probably the business owners. Some of the store interior can be seen through the windows. In one there are shirts hanging on a rack. In another there is lighting fixtures and furniture. In the right one there is a mannequin with a suit and what appears to be hats. There are signs in the window, on the exterior, and hanging above. Most of the signs on the building can be read. They are as follows: KIBLING & POWERS DRY GOODS & CLOTHING LADIES - FURNISHINGS - GENTS ASK TO SEE (???) BOYS (???) ASK TO SEE (???) (???) (???) ASK TO SEE (???) (???) SUITS There are other interesting features that can be seen. There are train cars in the background. The wording and numbers on them can almost be read. There are old horse hitching post or rails. A few more buildings can be seen behind and beside the stores. The glass negative measures 7'' x 5''. It is in excellent condition with some scratches as pictured. |
