| | | The picture shows the cover of this Old Rochester, N.H. City Opera House Advertising Program Booklet. It was for a Comedy Drama Play called "BAR HAVEN" with music by AL. Colby and his Orchestra. I can not find a year on this booklet but it is believed to be from the 1930's. This booklet had once belonged to someone in charge of collecting payment for all of the local advertising inside. Each ad is marked "PAID" or "Pd" in pencil. The American Legion was a sponsor of this booklet. They have an interesting ad inside that reads as follows: THE ROCHESTER POST NO. 7 AMERICAN LEGION is the owner, through the generosity of His Excellency Governor Huntley N. Spaulding, of the only official film of the World War, in 5 reels, released by the U.S. Signal Corps, October, 1927, together with a projector and screen. The Post will be pleased to show these films to organizations which may desire their exhibitions. Application should be made to the Commander of the Post, Edward L. Bacon. This (24) page booklet is loaded with local advertising. Many of the companies that advertised are still in business today. This would be great for those interested in local History. They are simple text ads. Those that advertised in here are as follows: The Rochester Post American Legion Spaulding Fibre Company Linscott - Tyler - Wilson Company John Rigazio Fruits, Confectionery, Cigars, & Tobacco N.W.
