The pictures below show larger views of all (4) Old Voice – O – Graph Mutoscope Arcade Machine Voice Letter Records With (2) Paper Sleeves in this lot. These are records that people had nade with an International Mutoscope Corporation arcade booth machine. These were similar to old photo booths that were used at old arcades, on old boardwalks, amusement parks, or other popular tourist areas. You would put your coins in the coin operated machine in a booth, and record your voice on a 78rpm Voice-O-Graph record, fill in the record label, put it in the mailer sleeve, address it, and send it off to friends or family. Many World War II Servicemen found these machines, and used them to record and send a message, before being shipped overseas during the war. The record labels are marked as follows:

VOICE-O-GRAPH
REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. U.S. PAT. NO. 2,600,573

CAUTION INFLAMMABLE
IF RECORDING SLIPS ON TURNTABLE WRAP A PIECE OF PAPER AROUND TURNTABLE PIN & PRESS RECORDING DOWN.
MADE IN U.S.A. BY INTERNATIONAL MUTOSCOPE CORPORATION,
NEW YORK, N.Y.

The first picture shows the first set of three records, and the paper mailer envelope. It has the original two cardboard inserts inside. The record labels are marked, in pencil, on one of the two sides as follows:

DATE : 8-12-58
TO: 1st RECORD
LEONARD & I TALKING

DATE : 8-12-58
TO: ALL OF US TALKING

DATE : 8-12-58
TO: ‘ABOUT HOUSES’

The second picture shows the second one that has one record. This one was made and sent from Hampton Beach in New Hampshire to a Claremont, N.H. mailing address. It has a partial postage stamp on the envelope. The record labels were not filled in.

We had listened to these a long time ago and can not remember the messages or what was said on them.

All of these for one price! To judge the sizes the records each measure about 6'' wide. They appear to be in very good to excellent condition. The second envelope is complete, but it has some tears from opening as pictured.
