1960s Cracker Jack Mother Goose Prize Prototype Carving With (6) Snap Together Prizes

The picture shows a view of this one of a kind 1960s Cracker Jack Mother Goose Prize Prototype Carving With (6) Snap Together Prizes. The carved wooden prototype is for a Mother Goose character pushing a baby carriage with her two babies. The prize has wheels in the back that roll.

I bought the carving from a dealer that purchased it from prize designer John (Wally) Walworth. The prize was designed by John "Wally" Walworth and carved around 1965 by Carl Halstammer in Chicago for Gold Premium International Studios in New York. Carl passed away in 1974. I had become friends with Wally Walworth before he passed away on the last day of 1991.

The proto type carving is shown with the finished assembled and unassembled plastic put together prizes. These carvings are done and they are cut in half. The holes seen are for an axle to hold the wheels. The wheels were made seperately. The designs were carved large and design details worked out. They are then reduced in side to make the plastic injection molds. This carving is made of basswood and is in excellent condition. The prizes are in mint condition with (2) being unassembled and (4) being assembled. They are of various colors as pictured.
