The pictures show views of this Old Metal Hawaii Advertising Souvenir Trinket or Jewelry Box. Shown is the top, front, back, and the bottom. This small trinket box is not dated but it is old. It may be from the 1920s or 1930s but we are not sure. It appears to be made of pot metal or lead. It has an image of a surfer holding a surf board on a beach. Also in the image is the water, a boat, a palm tree, and a mountain. On the sides there are flowers (lilly of the valley?) and on the bottom appears to ne many rose buds. Inside is a red felt like cloth material. It is (interestingly) marked on the the top and bottom as follows: ALOHA HAWAII JAPAN The old metal souvenir box measures about 2-5/8'' x 1-1/2'' x 2''. It appears to be in near mint condition as pictured, however, it needs a simple mending. The lid has come off and will require a simple 3/8'' hinge spot (center hinge section) re-soldered to the underside of the lid. |
