| The pictures below show larger views of the ©1946 Stephens Toy Auto Magic Picture Gun with (15) Film Strips in this lot. The projector gun is not dated, but all of the film boxes are dated ©1946. We do not have the original box that the gun set came in. All that is included is pictured below. There is the working film projector gun, (15) films, and (5) film boxes. We do not know how many films originally came in each box. When this lot was found there were three in each of the boxes. This post World War II toy metal gun looks like a cap gun, but it is not. It opens to install two AA batteries in the grip area, and a loop filmstrip at the top. There is a light bulb inside that shines through the film and out the magnifying lens at the end of the gun barrel. You can also focus the lens by pulling it in or out. You would project the film frames on about any smooth surface. To advance the film strip you pull the trigger and it advances inside with slots on the film. We have carefully tested it. With only a little practice is does work fine. There are (5) film boxes that are included. Each of these picture four film frames on the box with a Cowboy on a horse, a black man with an umbrella, a squirrel character, and a U.S. Navy battleship with an airplane. The ends have a space to write titles and titles are written on them. The boxes are marked on the sides as follows: AUTO MAGIC FILMS

THE LITTLE RED HEN To judge the sizes the Auto Magic Picture Gun measures 5-7/8'' x 3-1/2'' x 7/8''. Over all this lot appears to be in excellent working condition. The gun only has light wear from use as pictured. Only one of the filmstrips has separated (top right in the first two pictures below). The cardboard boxes have some light wear. There are a couple loose (included) and a couple missing end flaps on the film boxes. |
