The pictures below show larger views of this Portland Press Herald Newspaper Unknown Store Interior Metal Printing Plate. The first picture below shows the negative printing plate as you look at it. The second picture shows the imprinted back. The third picture is a digitally reversed image that the printed image would look like. This printing plate is not marked that it is from the Portland Press Herald newspaper in Maine, but it came from a batch that was from that newspaper, where many of the plates were marked as such. We do not know the date or dates that the image was printed in the newspaper. The print image shows an interior view of an unknown (jewelry ?) store with filled glass counter display cases, shelving, tin ceiling, lighting, checkerboard tile floor, and more. This store was most likely somewhere in the Portland, Maine area. The shelving may be filled with sterling silver and silver plate items. The printing plate is marked on the back with a Native American Indian and it reads as follows: MICRO - METAL PHOTOENGRAVERS' PLATES MADE IN U.S.A. ® The printing plate measures 5-1/2'' x 3-3/4''. It appears to be in excellent condition used as pictured. |
