The pictures below show larger views of all (3) 1800s Progressive South Publisher Advertising Mailer Paper Items in this lot. These items were all found together. They are not dated but they are believed to be from the 1800s, sometime after the Civil War. These items were from The Progressive South, Publishers at 256 Main Street, of Cincinnati, Ohio.

The first item here is shown in the first three pictures below. It has a very detailed engraving image with a woman in a hammock, a possible slave or servant woman, a parrot, buildings, a river, horses, mountains, trees, plants, a cooking pot and much more. It is an advertisement for investing in property in the South, including areas of Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama in: Chattanooga, Birmingham, Florence, Tuscaloosa, Decatur, Brunswick, St. Andrew's Bay, De Funiak Springs, Bonifay, Punta Gorda, Tampa, Orlando, Ocala, Gainsville, Palatka, Fernandia, Sanford. On the back are (5) different detailed seals or emblems, and ''Information In Regard To The Great South''. On the inside is a long column advertising (45) books mailed from ''The Weekly Herald'', one year for $1.50.

The second and third items can be seen in the fourth picture below. The first of these is another advertisement pertaining to property in the South including: Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama. It also offers a years subscription to The Progressive South newspaper for 50 cents. The final item in this lot is an unused business reply envelope for ''The Progressive South'' Publisher with their printed Cincinnati, Ohio mailing address.

To judge the sizes the first item measures about 6-1/4'' x 8-1/2''. These items appear to be in near mint to mint condition with folds as made for mailing as pictured.
