The picture shows four views of this Old Art Deco Monogramed Glass & Silver Make Up Jar. The jar is not dated but it is old. The jar may have been a part of a larger dresser set. We do not now for certain, but it may have been used for a cream or a powder. It could also be used as a trinket box to hold jewelry or other small items. There are two small markings on the silver cover or lid (see bottom left picture). These markings can also be seen on the inside of the lid as well. We can not tell what the marks are. The cover appears to be made of silver but it has not been tested. slides on and it is not threaded. It has the initials ENC in the center and a very detailed design from there to the edge of the lid. The jar is made of clear glass that has alternating convex and concave curves around the side and a recessed star pattern on the bottom. The jar measures about 2-1/4'' x 1-3/4''. It is in excellent condition as pictured. The cover has a nice aged patina but it could be easily polished if desired. |
