The picture shows both sides of all (3) Early Advertising Trade Cards With Comical Baseball Scenes in this lot. We do not know the year these were made, but they are most likely from the 1800s. We also do not know why they were trimmed unless it was to fit them in an album. They are as seen in the pictures. All three were from the Burlington Clothing Company, which we believe was from Burlington, Vermont. They advertise ready made clothing for Men, Boys, Youths, and Children. Each of the colorful baseball players pictured is wearing red stockings or sox and a red belt that advertises GARGLING OIL LINIMENT. The captions on the picture sides read as follows:

(Catcher)
A CLOSE AFFAIR.
HUGGING THE BAT

(Batter)
STRUCK OUT

(Fielder)
THE HERO OF A HOME RUN.
THE LADIES FAVORITE.

Trimmed as they are each card measures about 3" x 4". Each also has very light paste on the back from being in a scrap book at some time. Please judge the conditions by the pictures.
