The picture below shows a larger view of the (2) Unused ©1958 The Colossus of New York Horror Movie Ad Mat Molds. The ad mats are not dated but they are from 1958 when these two movies were made. This is a mold in which lead is poured to create a thin metal negative image that is then mounted on a wooden block for printing. Advertising is no longer being made or printed like this.

The ad mats are like a miniature 3-D posters and would look nice framed, or you could still use them and make print blocks. The print block would have been used to print on movie pages in newspapers, in magazines, or in the movie theater programs. It is made of a thick compressed paper board. One of these admats has an image of the giant Colossus robot, title, and actor's names. The smaller one is only a title. They are marked as follows:

PARAMOUNT PRESENTS
THE COLOSSUS OF NEW YORK
TOWERING ABOVE THE SKYLINE!
STARRING JOHN BARAGREY – MALA POWERS – OTTO KRUGER – ROBERT HUTTON – ROSS MARTIN
PRODUCED BT WILLIAM ALLAND
DIRECTED BY EUGENE LOURIE
SCREEN PLAY BY THELMA SCHNEE
BASED ON A STORY BY WILLIS GOLDBECK
60 LINES 4 INCHES MAT 103

(small one)
THE COLOSSUS OF NEW YORK

The ad mats together measure about 4-9/16'' x 4-11/16''. They appear to be in mint unused condition as pictured.
