The pictures below show larger views of the 1895 Herbene Pharmacal Company Pharmacy Case w/(32) Cork Cap Bottles & Paperwork in this lot. The case is made of wood and some cloth like covering. There are many metal clips mounted on the panels inside. These panels are hinged and fold down. These clips hold cork capped glass vials or bottles. There are (32) of the bottles, and (19) of them have paper labels applied from the “Howarth Ballard Drug Company” of Utica, New York. The labels have hand written drug names on them. These vials or bottles are empty, but they will need a cleaning. This lot is being offered as an old medical or advertising collectible item. It is not intended nor being sold for use of any kind. There are (5) paper items that were found in a pocket in the case. These are from two different places. The first is the Herbene Pharmacal Company of New York City. Of these there is a long typed letter on company letterhead, a shorter typed one, and the third is a company envelope, with a two cent George Washington postage stamp. The one sided 1895 dated letter head advertises the following: HERBENE PHARMACAL COMPANY GOLDEN HERBENE GEMS (The Best General Remedy) HERBENE PINE PELLETS (The Best Cough Remedy) HERBENE MENDING CLOTH (Saves Time and Labor) STANDARD TOILET ARTICLES HERBENE SACHET POWDER HERBENE FACE POWDER HERBENE TOOTH POWDER Two 1890s letters are hand written on a Doctor’s letterhead. These are from C. E. Carruth, M.D. of Jonesville, New York. These have a Doctor’s signature. All of these items for one price! To judge the sizes the case box measures about 9-1/839;39; x 5-1/239;39; x 439;39;. These items appear to be in fair to good condition as pictured. The case is missing a cover, and it has wear from use. The bottles or vials are complete, but need a cleaning. The letters have some wear, folds, and age discoloration, as pictured. |
