The picture below shows a larger view of all (13) Small Old Colorful Tobacco Advertising Premium Miniature Felt or Flannel Country Flags in this lot. Actually two are not seen. The two top ones have another identical one sewn on the back of them. These are not dated but they are old. In the early 1900s many tobacco companies gave these away as premiums with their cigarettes or cigars. There were many different sets of silks, flannels, flags, felts, and carpets that were used. The flags cam in different sizes as well. The manufacturers and the cigarette or cigar brands that these were used in are unknown. They would look nice in a display, framed, or sewn together as they once were. The countries that are included, in the order pictured, here are as follows: (4) multi flag panels sewn together (2 front & 2 back). Each panel has (6) flags: America, Argentina, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, & one other (can not read). Each of these panels also have (2) “E. Pluribus Unum” eagles with shields, and “AMERICA” (bottom center). United States of America (48 star) Ireland Denmark Greece San Domingo Egypt United States of America (48 star) Turkey Morocco Remember, the two panels at the top have identical panels sewn to the back of them. All of these miniature flags for one price! To judge the sizes the American flag in the second row down measures about 8'' x 5-1/2''. These appear to be in excellent or better condition as pictured. |
