The picture below shows a larger view of all (7) Old United States Navy Sailor Hotel Bombing Black & White Photographs in this lot. There is much more detail that can be seen in the actual photographs. These photos are not dated. The are old, but the year they are from is unknown. Also the location is unknown as well. If you an identify these, please let us know. They were found together in an old U.S. Navy Sailor's photographs. The scene appears to be of a hotel that was bombed. In the order pictured, the images have the following: The first photo is of a U.S. Navy Sailor armed with a rifle standing guard. Behind him on the building is a sign that reads “HOTEL GOLDEN – FREE PARKING ????? ???????”. There is a large lamp post and much debris can be seen all around on the ground. The second photo has what appears to be a temporary hospital or shelter tent with cot beds. Next there is a photo of people at another tent. This one has a hand written sign “FOOD ADMINISTER” hanging at an entrance. Packing boxes can be seen and a man in the foreground is holding one that reads “PACKED IN HAWAII”. The next photo has the front of a building with the exterior wall of the third floor gone and the debris below. It looks like the bottom floor had a store. A partial sign can be seen that reads “???BER CUT RATE”. Next is another building image with more debris hanging and on the ground. There is another photo with a fourth or top floor exterior wall gone. The last photo has two U.S. Navy Sailors in uniform walking by the opened building with debris on the ground. The photographs each measure 2-1/2'' x 3-1/2''. They appear to be in mint asmade condition as pictured. |
