The picture below shows a larger view of all (4) Unused ©1955 The Girl In The Red Velvet Swing Crime Drama Movie Ad Mat Molds in this lot. These are all still connected. The ad mats are not dated but they are from 1955 when this movie was made. This is a mold in which lead is poured to create a thin metal negative image that is then mounted on a wooden block for printing. Advertising is no longer being made or printed like this. One of the ad mats is like a miniature 3-D poster, one is mostly a title admat, and the other two are scene images from the movie. These would look nice framed, or you could still use them and make print blocks. The print block would have been used to print on movie pages in newspapers, in magazines, or in the movie theater programs. It is made of a thick compressed paper board. The admat has an image of a scene with Jayne Mansfield and a music band in the background. They are marked as follows: THE RISE … THE FALL OF EVELYN NESBIT THAW! THE BEAUTY THAT LIVED ALL … TELLS ALL! 20th CENTURY FOX PRESENTS “THE GIRL IN THE RED VELVET SWING” CINEMASCOPE COLOR BY DE LUXE STARRING RAY MILLAND – JOAN COLLINS – FARLEY GRANGER WITH LUTHER ALDER – CORNELIA OTIS SKINNER – GLENDA FARRELL FRANCES FULLER – PHILIP REED – GALE ROBBINS PRODUCED BY CHARLES BRACKETT IN THE WONDER OF STEREOPHONIC SOUND SIGNATURE 72 LINES x 1 COL.
