The pictures show views of all sides of ths Old Century - Way Long Distance Cruiser Wooden Futuristic Car Model in this lot. The year that this model was built is unknown but it is old. It was found hidden away in basement of a home that was having an estate sale. No one at the sale had any information about it. Luckily there was some information on a typed note that was taped to the bottom. Unfortunately it does not mention why the model was built, by who, or when. The model is carved out of an unknown wood. The ''wheelpods'' are also carved and added on. The ires are not turning ones. They are only segments of tires that are screwed onto the wheelpods. The car is painted gold with green painted window areas and license plate covers. There are red, yellow, and clear plastic sections on the rear wheel pods for brake, directional, and back up lights. There are some small screw holes on the bottom that may have attached the car to a stand or base at one time. The model car measures about 19'' long x 6-1/2'' wide x 4'' tall. It is in excellent as made condition as pictured. On the bottom is the attached paper that reads as follows: This is a model of a Century-way long distance cruiser. The individual fenders, or wheelpods are designed to pierce the air rather than plow it aside. Car is designed for 2 rotary engine turning hydraulic pumps which pump a stream of fluid through a small waterwheel at each wheel. The green areas on the left front wheelpod and the rear of the vehicle are license plate covers and would be clear on a real model. The engine is front mounted. Storage space is in the interior and after the rear windows. Front pods turn with the wheels. |
