The pictures shows a view of all of the pages of the (2) 1967 Peace For Vietnam German Brochures in this lot. The first one has four pages and the second one has (3) two sided panels. These were both found in a 1967 scrap book. They were both loose because the paste had dried. The scrapbook was from the child of an American Soldier who was stationed in Germany. The child was going to school in Germany. Both of these are in German. Since we do not speak or read German, not much can be said about the content. The cover of the first one has a young lady with what appears to be a body. There are fences in the background. Inside there are images of Soldiers, a crying child, and what appears to be Prisoners of War. On the back is a peace sign. a few translations from the front and back are as follows: PEACE FOR VIETNAM The Vietnamese People Need Peace and Aid The second brochure appears to be a benefit concert or event for peace in Vietnam. It has images of musicians and celebrities. Pictured and listed are the following: The Beatles John Lennon Paul McCartney George Harrison Ringo Star Fasia Jansen - Massaquoi Joan Baez Dieter Suverkrup Dominique Christopher & Michael Boxer Cassius Clay (later Muhammand Ali) Perry Friedman The quote by the Beatles traslates as follows: ''We think of Vietnam every day. This American war is a wrong and to condemn therefore.'' The first brochure (closed) measures about 8-3/8'' x 11-3/4''. The second brochure (opened) measures about 21-3/4'' x 5-5/8''. These are in very good condition with some old dried paste spots as pictured. |
