It is marked on the two sides as follows: VIRGINIA - TENNESSEE SILVERGLO BRISTOL, VA. 1A1 The post card was mailed on September 9th, 1944 by a U. S. Army Soldier from Camp Shelby, Mississippi while he was in Knoxville, Tennessee. He mailed it to his Sweetheart in Sanford, Maine. The postcard has a city street scene with many business and advertising signs that can be seen and read. There is an unusual old traffic light and some of the signs read as follows: CLEANED & BLOCKED BRISTOL DRUGS SODA ICE CREAM RAYLASS DEPT. STORES UNITED KING'S WALLACE'S BRISTOL'S GREATEST GROCERY EST. 1893 ...and more... The postcard measures about 5-1/4'' x 3-1/4''. It appears to be in excellent used condition as pictured. |
