The pictures show a front and back view of this Early Comical York Beach Maine Advertising Souvenir Post Card. The last two numbers of the postmark year did not print, but this postcard is believed to be from the early 1900s. It pictures a color image of a either a large woman, or a woman in a large bathingsuit with a hat holding an umbrella or parasol. She is standing on the beach, near a dock, facing the ocean. The back of her bathing suit or outfit reads ''IT FLOATS''. The card is marked ''YORK BEACH, ME.''. It has a written message and a two cent George Washington postage stamp. It was mailed from York Beach,Maine to a Concord, New Hampshire mailing address. The post card measures about 3-3/8'' x 5-3/8''. It appears to be in excellent condition with some corner or edge wear from handling as pictured. |
