| The picture shows the front covers of all (4) Old Grocery Store Advertising Account Booklets in this lot. These are not dated but are believed to be from the 1800's. The first three books have a nice graphic image of old food products on the cover. The last one has an image on the cover of an interior of an old general store. These were used to keep track of grocery purchases, prices, and perhaps what was owed to the grocer. They were most likely given out to customers by the grocer. The first book is unused. It has (80) numbered but blank lined pages. The second and third ones have advertising on the inside covers, back covers, last page, and at the tops of all the pages for DUNHAMS SHRED COCOANUT. These two have a name on the cover and notes on the first few pages. The last book has a name on the cover and notes on the first few pages. To judge the sizes the two center booklets each measure 3-5/8" x 6-1/8". They are all in excellent condition with the notes as stated above. |
