(9) Different Old Tortoise Shell Items
Tortoise Shell   Bakelite   Plastic   Vanity   Tool   Bathroom   Boudoir   Vintage   Antique
There are two pictures showing a view of all (9) Different Old Tortoise Shell Items in this lot.

The second picture shows different views of the small round box in the first picture. The lid for the box is only in the first picture. I am no expert on this old plastic material. You will need to be the judge. I was told it was called tortoise shell.

There is a hair comb that has a metal case with raised images. Those same images are on both sides. It fits nicely in the case. I see no makers name or any other markings. It appears to be in excellent condition with only the lightest amount of wear on the comb.

Next there is a long button hook. I'm not sure if this was used for shoes or clothing buttons. I see no makers name or any other markings. This one also appears to be in excellent condition with only the lightest of wear.

Next is a smaller tool. I believe this one is used for finger nails or toenails. I see no makers name or any other markings. This one also appears to be in near mint to mint condition.

Next is a beautiful Art Deco looking pin. There are many colors in this piece. The pin section is threaded and it unscrews to reveal the sharp pin on one end. It is made up of (6) different color pieces and black sections that house the brass or gold pin. It appears to be in mint condition.

There is a long rod with a knot in the end. I am not sure what this is, but if I were to guess I would say it was either for a hair decoration or a drink swizzle stirrer stick. In any case the colors are nice and I see no damage.

Next is another that I am not sure about. Again, I think it may be for your hair. This piece looks dull with a matt looking finish.

Next is a tiny comb looking object. There is a hole at each end suggesting that it was a part of something. As it is it looks nice with the same kind of coloring as the others.

Next is a flat round bead. The hole is clean and it goes through the center as pictured. It too looks like the other items and again, I see no damage.

The last one I saved because it is in both pictures. It is a small round box. The lid has a lip and it fits neatly on top. The box has great color, but unfortunately it has the two cracks as seen in the picture. On the side view you will see that the bottom section is loose but not broken. I did not attempt to glue it. I will leave that up to the buyer. The top and bottom sections appear to be in perfect condition. The side section wraps around and overlaps creating a nice seam. I am not sure if the cracks are from age or if it was dropped. In either case, someone with experience could probably fix this.

All of these items for one price! To judge the sizes the rod on the left measures 6-5/8" long.
