The picture shows an opened and closed view of this Old Hard Plastic Hinged Treasure Chest Jewelry or Trinket Box. This treasure chest box is not dated but it is believed to be from the 1930s or 1940s. There is no marking and the maker is unknown. It is made of an early type of brown hard plastic or bakelite. There are two small metal hinges. The outside has a dull matt finish and the inside is glossy. The box measures 6-3/8'' x 3-1/8'' x 2''. It appears to be in excellent condition as pictured.
