| The picture shows all (3) 1933 Depression Era Franklin, New Hampshire Boys Farm Items in this lot. There is a Letter, a Brochure, and the postmarked Envelope they were mailed in all from THE GOLDEN RULE FARM HOMES ASSOCIATION. From reading the pamphlet and letter I see that this was a home for orphan, troubled, underprivileged, and criminal boys. It claims to be the only place like it in New Hampshire at the time where boys can get a fresh start. There is a touching letter from one of the orphaned boys in the pamphlet. The letter is asking for a donation. It pictures one of the buildings. Down the side is a list of the Officers, Executive Committee, and the Trustees. The brochure has (8) pages of information with (6) pictures. One picture (pictured) has the boys in band uniforms with their musical instruments. There are two more group pictures, one of their Club Gardens, one indoors working on projects, and one with a boy playing baseball with a catchers mitt. The envelope was opened on the side. It has a 1933 post mark, but the stamp was cut off. To judge the sizes the letter measures 8-1/2" x 11". The letter and brochure are in excellent+ condition. One page of the brochure has a tiny pucture hole. The letter has normal fold creases from mailing. |
