The picture below shows larger front and back views of this Old United States Coast Guard Cutter Ship Glacier WAGB-4 Belt Buckle. This belt buckle is not dated but it is believed to be from between 1966 – 1987. It has the ship’s emblem, with the ship and ice glaciers, a penguin, and a polar bear. It is marked on the two sides as follows:

MADE IN U.S.A.

The buckle measures about 2-9/16'' x 1-1/2'' x 5/8''. It appears to be in good condition with wear from use by a Coast Guard Sailor as pictured. Below here , for reference, is some information on the United States Coast Guard Cutter Ship Glacier WAGB-4.

Decommissioned: transferred to the Coast Guard, 30 June 1966
Recommissioned: USCGC Glacier (WAGB-4)
Struck from the Naval Register, 1 July 1966
Decommissioned: by the Coast Guard, 7 July 1987, at Portland, Oregon
Transferred: to the MARAD for lay up in the National Defense Reserve Fleet,
Towed to: Bremerton, Washington, 8 July 1987 for stripping and layup
Towed to: Suisun Bay, Benecia, California 3 March 1991
Final Disposition: sold for scrapping, 12 February 2012, to Esco Marine, Brownsville, Texas for $146,726.00
