The pictures below show larger views all around and inside this Old Memphremagog House & Boats Newport Vermont Advertising Souvenir Wooden Postage Stamp Box. This wooden box is not dated but it is believed to be from the early 1900s. It has an ornate brass hinge on the lid, a stamp divider, and angled base section inside to remove flat postage stamps easily. The top has an image of large houses or mansions with steamboats or paddleboats, in the water, in front of them. There are clouds in the backfround and it is marked as follows: MEMPHREMAGOG HOUSE AND BOATS The small wooden souvenir postage stamp box measures about 3-1/8'' x 1-1/2'' x 2-1/8''. It appears to be in very good condition with some overall wear from use as pictured. The bottom may have had a soft covering at one time, to protect surfaces, but we do not know for sure. |
