The pictures show views of this Unusual Old Accessocraft Fish Bone Costume Jewelry Necklace With Fish Charms. The first picture shows the entire necklace and the second picture shows a closer view of the two mechanical jointed fish charms. This necklace is not dated but it is old. It is believed to be from the 1950s or 1960s. The metal has not been tested but it may be brass, gold, gold filled, or gold plated. It is marked with a metal tag at one end of the chain that reads as follows:

ACCESSOCRAFT
N.Y.C.

The fish tails are stamped:

MADE IN HONG KONG

The chain looks like connected fish or snake bones. Because the fish are made up of many small jointed parts they wiggle side to side like a real fish. The chain measures 28-1/4'' long and the fish charms each measure about 1-7/8'' long. It is in mint condition as pictured. Below here, for reference, is some information that was found on Accessocraft:

The Accessocraft Products Company, New York, was founded by Edgar Rodelheimer and Theodore Steinman, and opened in 1930. The jewelry has been classified good quality with unusual gothic designs and was highly popular in the 1960s having had the Art Deco decorative look of the 1920s and 1930s Many items had a style typical of the Renaissance, Victorian, Art Nouveau, and Rococo ornamentation. The unusual stones used in the jewelry were set in antique gold-tones or bronzed metals. Many of the 1930s pieces had a decidedly Art Deco look. The jewelry pieces were marked ''Accessocraft.'' The company ceased operations in 1998.
