The picture shows two views of this Old Cracker Jack & Kellogg's Cereal Premium Elmar Train Engine Whistle Toy. This mail away premium toy is not dated but it is from the early 1950s. This is a balloon activated locomotive. A balloon goes on the smoke stack. When the air is released it comes out the back whistle section and propels the train forward.

The toy was marketed as a mail away premium from both Cracker Jack and Kellogg's Corn Flakes cereal. For Cracker Jack it was called a ''JET PROPELLED RAILROAD ENGINE'' and you could order it for 25c and one Cracker Jack label. For Kellogg's it was called ''JET DRIVE WHISTLE LOCO'' and you would get it for 25c and one Corn Flakes cereal box top.

The engine came in red, turquoise, and blue. It is made of plastic and it has rolling wheels. Each side is marked ''ELMAR''. The engine measures about 4-3/4'' long. The wheels move freely and it appears to be in excellent condition. The metal axels have some rusting but it does not affect the trains operation at all.
