The picture shows a view of the (2) Unused 1947 Tom & Jerry Part Time Pal Cartoon Ad Mat Molds. The ad mat is not dated but it is from the 1947 cartoon film. These are molds in which lead is poured to create a thin metal negative image that is then mounted on a wooden block for printing. Advertising is no longer being made or printed like this. The ad mat is like a miniature 3-D poster and would look nice framed, or you could still use it and make print blocks from it. The print block would have been used to print on movie pages in newspapers, in magazines, or in the movie theater programs. It is made of a thick compressed paper board. The admats have images of Tom and Jerry and they are marked as follows: AN M-G-M CARTOON COLOR BY TECHNICOLOR TOM AND JERRY IN PART TIME PAL The ad mat measures about 5-7/1639;39; x 3-3/1639;39;. It is in mint unused condition as pictured.
