The pictures show a front and back view of this Old Unused Texaco Service Station Cadue's Garage Employee Tilton New Hampshire Real Photo Post Card. This postcard is not dated but the stamp area design indicates that it is from between 1924 and 1949 and most likely it was from the earlier years because of the undivided back. With a little research it was found that Cadue's Garage was located on Main Street in Tilton, New Hampshire across from the Tilton Inn and close to the river. It was one of the first Ford Dealerships in New Hampshire and also a Texaco filling station. The photograph pictures a group of men who are believed to be Cadue's Garage employees. Some appear to be Mechanics in coveralls and dungarees, some salesmen in suits, probably the owner(s), and others. There is an old Ford car on a snow pile. On the hood of the car is a man with a ''CADUE'S GARAGE'' sign hanging on him. The man next to the driver's door is smoking a pipe and is holding brushes. To the left is a partial TEXACO advertising sign. It can not be seen in the scan, but near the bottom left of the post card, in the snow, it is embossed with the Photographers information that reads as follows: R. WRIGHT TILTON, N.H. This real photo post card measures about 3-3/8'' x 5-3/8''. It appears to be in near mint to mint unused condition as pictured. |
