The picture below shows a larger view of the (2) 1944 Black & White Photographs of a Child in a Car Seat in this lot. These old photos came from an unknown family. The location is also unknown. They are not marked but they are both dated on the front “9 – 44”. The boy child is in a 1930s or 1940s automobile sitting safely in his carseat. The fold up car seat has two arms for comfort, and a strap or belt to go around his neck. The seat is located facing forward in the front bench seat, at windshield height, so that he can see well with a full view of the outside. Later there were even more modern car seat models that featured chrome metal hooks that went over the back of the front seat, and some even offered a hard plastic steering wheel directly in front of the child, with a squeaking horn. Yes, these really did exist, and we were much tougher back then. Both of these old photographs for one price! The photos each measure about 4'' x 2-3/4''. They appear to be in excellent or better condition as pictured. |
